The Pete Hegener Leadership award was created to honor the late Paul J. "Pete" Hegener, a brilliant and responsible developer who brought to completion the master-planned community of St. Lucie West. His vision also extended southward to the development of the master-planned community of Tradition, which has become one of St. Lucie County's most important hubs for job creation and expansion.
Tambone Companies' very own Richard P. Tambone was chosen by the selection committee who was tasked with selecting a winner from a group of 10 extremely impactful leaders who have made significant contributions to St. Lucie County's economic vitality and quality of life.
What an honor it was to accept the award, joined on stage by Mrs. Hegener herself - wife to the late Mr. Pete Hegener, whose legacy this award honors.
Richard P. Tambone and Tambone Companies partnered with the City of Port St. Lucie and in developing the Southern Grove are into a major jobs corridor. This work was fundamental in attracting, retaining, and expanding business in St. Lucie County.
