Port St. Lucie City Council to consider proposals for Tradition Commerce Park

PORT ST. LUCIE — Seven developers will make their pitches to city officials next week for land deals in the 1,223-acre Tradition Commerce Park, City Manager Russ Blackburn said Monday.

Those pitches will help a selection committee decide which proposals it presents to the City Council on July 23, Blackburn told the council during an update on the city acquisition of Commerce Park.

Some developers have proposed joint ventures with the city, while others would buy land and build business facilities, Blackburn said.

The city is keeping the companies and project details confidential.

The city took title to the land on June 28 from Tradition Land Co., which is pulling out of western Port St. Lucie. Tradition Land's sale of 2,800 acres of land to Mattamy Homes closed on June 29.
